About Christina
Neuro-Mystic Healing & Wellness
Meet Christina Allen
Christina Allen is an intuitive, shamanic healer and a teacher with over 30 years of training in physics, neuroscience, Andean mysticism, and somatic trauma healing. She initially studied the shamanic healing arts and energy medicine with psychologist, medical anthropologist, and shaman Alberto Villoldo at The Four Winds Society. She spent a decade there in the capacity of a Lead Teacher, healing consultant, and trip leader to Peru. She then studied extensively with Joan Parisi Wilcox and her Andean Healing Arts teachers Juan and Ivan Nuñez del Prado. Christina and Joan co-taught classes based on these original teachings for many years. Today, Christina focuses her energy on fusing her deep mystical and scientific training into a healing practice she calls neuro-mysticism—a synthesis of neuroscience, energy medicine, somatic release and consciousness shifting practices—helping clients dismantle trauma and restore wholeness.
Christina’s Background & Journey
Christina Allen is a modern-day medicine woman and gifted teacher who bridges the worlds of science and spirit. Her adult journey began with an insatiable curiosity about the magical intersection of matter, energy, and consciousness. After earning a degree in Physics and conducting doctoral research in Neuroscience at the Salk Institute through UCSD, Christina realized her deepest questions about the nature of consciousness could not be answered under a microscope. A mystical experience following her mother’s death invited her to step into that river she had been studying from the shore. She left academia to study directly with spiritual masters, apprenticing in yoga, Reiki, shamanism, and ultimately dedicating decades to learning and teaching Andean energy medicine as a healing art.
Christina understands how complex healing from freeze based trauma can be, from the inside out. Part of what drove her to become a healer was overcoming her own complex childhood trauma —and thawing from that freeze. In addition to personal experience and trainings, she has spent over 30 years in the trenches learning nuance from her many beloved clients, helping them to reset their nervous systems and regain their wholeness too. It’s a journey!
The embodiment and breath work practices Christina practices, as a result of her many years as a yoga teacher in California, are also foundational to her work with clients.
Christina has taught Andean based shamanism across the U.S., Mexico, and Peru in person, and now teaches globally through virtual classes. She founded the Austin Shamanic Center in 2014 and has since expanded it’s vision to include a healing path she calls Neuro-Mysicism. In addition to the healing work she provides for people stuck in eddies of trauma (depression, anxiety, freeze, procrastination, distraction addiction, and dysregulation) she currently leads advanced healing arts programs, including her Energy Medicine Certification program.
Through personal healing sessions, workshops, and consultations, Christina helps people dismantle trauma, release frozen patterns, and rebuild from their core seed of wholeness. Her grounded yet visionary presence creates a safe space for transformation, guiding clients beyond coping into clarity, balance, brilliance and authentic aliveness.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
From the standpoint of energy, freeze is a literal slowing down of the otherwise fluid energy field into blocks and unresolved emotions. These are stored in the mind and the body. In the Andean healing arts we bring the body and mind back into coherence, or balance, by running high vibrational energy through the blocked energy. We use breath to soften the mind. Both of these make the person able to move more freely on all levels and come to resolve, resolution and to coherence with their core self.
-
In neuromysticism we borrow from the Andean Healing arts. They believe that there is a divine core self that cannot be changed. it becomes the n=home button we reset the stressed body and contorted mind against to bring you back into balance. It’s an energetic process.
-
Sessions run about 90 minutes. The first 30-40 minutes are consultative to assess your goals and the history of your issues, then you lay fully clothed on a massage table while we work with your energy field, with breath and Andean Energy medicine. We end by tuning you to several healing frequencies and assessing whether there is homework that will further facilitate your healing process.
-
This completely depends on the issue, how deep it is, and how willing you are to let it go and heal. People often say one session can clear what 15 years of traditional talk therapy never touched. Usually within 3 sessions, spaced several weeks apart, we can clear the many layers of an issue that are causing us problems, at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Deeply set physical illnesses may require more work. People who suffer from unresolved trauma may want to explore Wellness Sessions.
-
It is best to space your sessions 1-2 weeks apart to give yourself time for the shifts to take place. Occasionally another issue, related to the first, will appear right behind it. In these cases it is appropriate to do another session within days.
-
No, these sessions are energetic in nature, requiring no hands to move the energy. The process involves clearing your energy field of old trauma based imprints, releasing your body tremors, emotional release, and then when clear, resetting your nervous system to better accord with your immutable core self.
All we ask is that you believe that you can heal. If you believe you can’t, you surely won’t. Many people hold onto their discomfort because it is familiar to them. When you are truly ready for change, it will happen.
-
Reiki is beautiful energy work that clears and rebalances your chakras. Reiki does not, however, remove the imprints that put your chakras out of balance in the first place. With Neuromystical healing we clear the heavy energy by working with the imprints of past events from your energy field and then reset your nervous system against your core self, and create new healing maps. Reiki is an excellent place to begin your healing journey. When we have deep rooted problems that do not resolve through simple balancing we need to go deeper. Neuromystical work gets to the deeper roots of what is taking you out of balance and helps you restructure your life to take a more constructive tact.
-
Psychologists work at the level of your mind, behavior and emotions. They help you identify and come to peace with your issues but you are engaging with them at a conscious level. The unconscious underpinnings of your issues can remain elusive. You will usually still carry triggers to those issues., and learn how to manage them or do things like EMDR to dismantle them. But the soul wants wholeness. The neuromystical healer works experientially, at the level of the soul. When your soul is cleared of the wounds causing your emotional and physical problems, and your nervous system is reset, to your core self, you can release somatically and those triggers fade.
-
Absolutely. Many injuries and illnesses are a result of unresolved trauma, or residual unprocessed energy stuck in places in the body weakened by trauma
-
Because ceremony temporarily allows us to step out of our everyday time, thinking, and dysfunctional habits. It creates a space where we can let go of our stories and identities, even the way our nervous system operates, so that we can reset. Profound healing results can then be fostered. Healing is state dependent. The coping strategies you have designed to keep you safe were created under duress. You remain in your everyday thinking and cannot detach from your old ways of being unless something takes you out of your everyday mind. Ceremony steps you into a place where plasticity and possibility are available. A Source energy bigger than yourself becomes available to guide you back home. It doesn’t matter what your beliefs about this Source energy are, in ceremony it can hold you as you let yourself fall apart. Then we can shift.

When we have particularly challenging moments in our lives, often the result of violence or chronic abuse, a part of us leaves and does not continue on to be wounded. It stays innocent at the age you were at the time of the incident and remains buried in shadow. The part of us that continues on feels broken or like a part of it is missing until that part is returned. Returning it brings back the traits you had at that age, but lost, when this part went into hiding. A trained shaman can find these pieces or versions, of you and return them. Often before a part can come home, however, you will need to make a safe home for it in your life; usually a soul retrieval follows a couple of sessions to clear the imprints from the events that made it leave. Ultimately your core self caries all of who you ever were and who you will be. Reclaiming these parts brings your coherence consciousness.
